Lars Van Berkel of the Husqvarna SKS Racing NL Team finished in a well-earned sixth place at the annual Le Touquet beach race. Van Berkel raced forward from his start on the second row, and after three hours of gruelling racing, crossed the line in sixth position.

Both the Husqvarna SKS Racing NL Team and Lars had spent countless hours in preparing for the race. They knew in advance what a tough challenge it was, and did all in their power to ensure that every little detail was taken care of.

More than 1000 riders charged off the start at 12:45 for the three hour long race. Lars started in the second row, which means that after the first lap, he was only in 22nd position. He rode smartly, and tried to contain errors to the minimum, and this paid dividends, as he kept moving forward. The pitstops were also a model of efficiency, and after 3 hours and 21 minutes he was flagged off in sixth spot.

Lars will take a short rest after this enormously taxing race, but will be in action again at the Winter Cross in Groesbeek on 16 February.
